Hi all. New member Dave from West Sussex. Currently looking to replace my tired old T5 with a T2 now that i am retired. I am currently looking for a panel van in any condition. Had various air cooled Beetles and a 76 microbus in my youth. Looking forward to using the forum and meeting up with fellow members.

Just don’t rush into it with rose coloured glasses. It’s very easy to do. Oh it just needs a little this or that ,,, too easy.

Yes, please exercise diligence when making that purchase. Some years ago I became overly excited when I found a 67 split bus for sale near me. Picturing myself cruising with those safari windows open and that coolness factor I paid full asking price. Turned out the bus was a rolling hunk of plastic filler. The more I pulled pieces back the worse it got. I lost my rear (arse I think you call it) when I sold it but I gained an appreciation for more careful examination. I went to great lengths to find my present rust-free ‘70 Westy in Southern California. Even then I spent a small fortune to get it running the way I wanted.
