A friend has asked me to list his lovely '71 Deluxe. It spent the majority of its life in Perth, Australia, before being imported into the UK about 8 years ago. Martin & his family have loved owning it, but have now made the difficult decision to let somebody else enjoy it. In 2011 it was decided to restore the bus to its former glory, employing a local company, passionate about the quality of their work & the end result, this can be seen in the arrow straight bodywork & the quality of paint finish, there is just one tiny scratch on the near side rear wheel arch which is pictured, its otherwise in immaculate condition ( Not a term I use lightly).
It's finished in L90H Cream White over Ral6021 Pale Green, complimented by deluxe trim, on the built line , grill & very rare original wide bumper trim. It has a cool ozzi sun visor , has an original tow bar & thin band white wall tyre trims. Perhaps one of the most distinctive features of this bus are the original Australian air ducts, these were to help get more cool air into the engine compartment, whilst in the extreme temperatures, these are rarely seen , look brilliant, ultimately work really well. Being a deluxe you'll notice the extra opening quarter light windows in the rear & of course the heater channels in the front doors to vent into the rear cabin. All the original door cards are still there , the front seats have matching covers on them over the original basket weave vinyl. (which are worn) In between the front seats is a super rare, factory buddy seat, again still wearing its original basket weave. In the back is a full width, rock'n'roll seat/bed, with 3 seat belts fitted, together with a small cabinet, to house your camping pots & pans & gas hob & grill.
This really is a lovely bus, which I promise will not disappoint, the asking price is NOW SOLD .
