I fitted one of these breather filters when I converted my carb. Worst thing I ever did. I'm just about to take my engine out again to do a proper job and link it up to my inlet. You'll pop an oil seal like I have.

Fitting one of the oil breather filters caused an oil seal to go?! At the mo it's just the breather filter I have on mine.....

Mine was as in the OP's opening post, just to atmosphere with nothing on it. At the time, I was running twin 34ict's on a stock engine and on a 1200 mile round trip I had no oil residue in my engine bay. Not to say others don't though. Now I'm running a bigger engine the mechanic I use has said i will need one for sure now. As my filler neck was leaking I decided to go for a oil breather tower, two birds with one stone.
