Has anyone replaced their oil filler neck and know if you need a special tool to unscrew the old one? I vaguely remember it is not just a matter of unscrewing the old one and replacing with a new one?

Hi there mate you need a little woodruff key socket type thingy they sell them at all VW classic suppliers

Or you can make a tool yourself, its just a flat piece of metal wide enough to reach the slots and thin enough to fit in them.

I have the tool, which fits on the end of a socket extension.

As long as you cover postage there and back you can make use of it.

Thanks for the information guys and the offer of the tool. I am going to check with a mechanic friend of mine and see if he has one.

Many thanks all
