I thought I'd best put a picture of where exactly my oil leek is running down
As I've mentioned on another thread I've had the engine out to do
1- flywheel oil seal
2- pushrod tubes and seals
3- oil cooler seals
But have now acquired another pissing leak
I thought it might be the oil pressure switch so I put some ptfe on the thread this seemed to fix it untill I took her down our local M53 for a blast(well 60mph)
And when I got home this is what I found

So I've just been out and cleaned up the oil took the oil switch out cleaned off the ptfe tape and put it back in without, started her up and ran her for 10 mins without a leak

I'll update tomorrow once I've gone down the M53 to work :|

thank's sparky

doesn't sound too bad i'm going to take it to a mate on Wednesday to see if he can sort it then

thank;s again

My oil pressure switch thread was damaged with oil leaking out. I screwed an M10/M10 adaptor into the case, glued in with JB Weld and then screwed the switch into that so that it could be replaced if necessary without disturbing the epoxy "thread" formed by the JB Weld. So far so good.

Drove the 5 miles to work this morning and yes oil is still pissing out :x

Sound like a daft question are you running the standard oil filled air filter, had similar problem came from the tinest hole in the filter, but looked like the van was haemorrhaging oil.

I cleaned and dried it the other day and did that minus the talk
So I'll get some tomorrow

Cheers

Looks in the 1st pic that there is oil above the switch.
Id be inclined to say oil cooler (or seals).

My mate said he did them but I never checked when we finished putting it back together :?

It's back
Thought I'd sorted my oil leak but its back again in the same place(see pics)
I put the correct gaskets on the fuel pump and it cured it initially but I'm now wondering wether it's crankcase pressure as it only really starts to leak when I go on the motorway on the way into work aprox 5 miles?

How do I check for crankcase pressure?
I've got twin 40 kadrons on a stock 1600

It's driving me mad

Is there any chance of that amount of oil coming past the 'o' ring on the Dizzy? I don't know the answer but haven't seen it mentioned previously in the thread. Could be something else worth checking. Mark it's position before removing....Ben

Hi Ben I did the dizzy o ring and also
Oil switch
Oil cooler seals
Push rods and seals
Flywheel oil seal both

Anything I've missed?

Mark
