Oil temp sender/ gauge choices

I was putting off ordering the VDO oil temp gauge kit from JK, but I think I'll do it now, though probably I'll get a dipstick sender rather than the CSP sump plate one. One benefit of that is I don't need to do an unnecessary oil change! :party0049:
 
Oh dang I forgot about that. I still am not familiar with how the wiring loom front and back is connected. I have seen the underneath of some vehicles with odd wires zip-tied down the chassis onto various things, that's something I just couldn't put up with.
 
The spare wire I used wasn't part of any loom or even an add on. It was actually internal and went under the ply floor with the rest of the speaker wires. So if you've got the opportunity then I guess it can go under the floor? TBH I didn't really know what it was and just left it when I refurbed the interior last year.

I also had a new loom last year, now all I need is a new gearbox!
