oil warning light wiring!

folowing on from Last nights round of questions i have a few more tonight, i will start with oil light wiring, my new camper has no wiring going to the oil preshure sender, there was a loose wire underneath the engine that i connected, but that didnt work, so my question is, what colour wire whould i be looking for and where does it enter the engine bay, there are a few wires to the right of the bay, but they all seem to go to the regulator.

Well what can i say, thanks to 58herby and speedy jim, i have sorted the wiring.

this is what i had originaly, the oil sensor wiring was wired to the choke, the black wire to the coil was wired to the carb, and the the dynamo had no earth.

now when i turn the ignition, the battey light comes on, then goes off when i start, the oil light doesnt come on at all is this right or should it come on with the ignition light ??

either way im off for a trest run, taking with me jump leads, oil and my tools, wish me luck!!!

Oil light should come on with ignition and then go out once engine has started and pressure is built up. may be the bulb is blown or not there too..

when i went out this afternoon it came on then went out happy days

only problem now is an intermitant horn!!

would that be the pot noodle horn????? ha ha :lol:

I had this problem with mine, pop the cap off first and have a look first the other place is somewhere underneath steering box area....i think not sure though.

Its all good to get the horn every now and again otherwise I know my missus would complain if i never...happy sorting

lol strangly enough the horn didnt work when i tried it, but as soon as the misses had a go, it was blasting away, she must have the touch
