Orig Heat Exchangers?

So, following a link on the steering box thread, do you think that these:

are actually the mythical 'original' heat exchangers that have a decent, finned cast lump inside and are so much better than the non-originals?
Does say 'VW', but not sure if later 'VW' ones were as good as the old ones....

Seems to be originals for sale, but only left hand ones.

The right hand ones are more expensive...
