Hello everyone, I have an original clock that works intermittently? The power supply is fine.

If I adjust the time it works for a few minutes then stops. Sometimes longer. You can hear it ticking away.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks.

Have you left it on a power source for a long period of time and seen if it keeps time???

The early anologue clocks only have power going to them intermitently and that's when you can hear them winding. You shouldn't be able to hear them ticking. Only the late bay quartz clocks tick when the second hand moves. Because the early bay clocks don't have a second hand it is hard to tell if they are working. That's why I recommend leaving it powered up for a while to see if it keeps time.

Great, thank you. Yes it's on a permanent supply... No other hand. You can hear it ticking at times.

Not sure about this, Aspro.

I have a genuine analogue clock, no second hand, factory fitted (though now moved to accommodate a tacho :D ), and it most definitely ticks. As you say, every so often it ratchets up the tension in the clockwork mechanism, and it is only then that it draws power. Keeps excellent time, BTW.
