Hi,
I have a 71 dormobile that I am repainting back to its original colour ,pastel white L90D, I know the fibreglass roof cap was bright white but was the steel roof bright white or body colour?

Agreed, yes body colour.
In addition the original Dormobile roof was not painted. It's finish and colour was the white gel coat.
