petrol gauge

bought two different second hand speedo's with a petrol gauge and both of them just have a single brown and a single white wire coming out of the back of two oversize squareish holes. i think there should be some kind of regulator on the back but dont know where to get one or even what i am looking for!! any help would be greatly appreciated!

Those oversize squarish holes, rounded corners on the short edge? The two wires have the very small spade type connectors?

there should be fibre infill washers in there with connector reducers in place.... and away you go....

so there is no regulator type thing like I found on the back of the petrol gauge out of a 75 bay, its just wired straight through but obviously isolated from the rest of the speedo.
