Changed the condencer, set the timing (checked it 3 times) went through all the wiring. checked all the all the HT leeds and conection. checked for air leaks. spark plugs out cleaned, checked the points gap, a tad of wd40 on all the connections and a known working carb ? it's all new and all set up ? must be something small, just need to find.
drained some fuel out when I got it but it was clean so after about 5L I stopped. Put a in line fuel filter. added 2 bottles of redex and filled it with clean petrol. I've only visually looks for air leak and made sure all fixings are tight

The other day I noticed Archie had blue spray paint on his fingers. I asked him what he had been spraying ? He replied "don't worry dad, I've been spraying the red bits on your camper van" Lolz bless. Now with more patina.

Looking good mate. How have you not lost any fingers yet?! Being from Derby, I guess you've got a few extra digits anyway.

Are you not tempted to get all the blue off now?

I'm down to 6 fingers now so got to be careful

I'm tempted, but I like it blue also. :? I will run it blue for a while let it wear with time, see how it goes. When I get bored of it, i can alway rub it back to red

Sparks don't make out you spend all your free time, cutting rot out and welding in nice new metal  ....... wait, that's exactly what your doing

it's in better hands then mine :D sat on the sidelines at slamwerks having a new loom fitted when they have a little down time, there also rebuilding the steering box as its proper ******.

It starts on the button, runs like a sewing machine and pull strong, now the engine has been sorted, timed and tuned. There was a crack (a large one!) at the rear of the carb manifold and the vacuum on the distributor not working.

it also stops, all of the braking system is new and there was a bleed problem, there was a crack in one of the brand new callipers :? all sorted :D

it's now MOT ready, but these jobs need doing and might as well do them all together. Think this bus is a keeper as other then the body EVERYTHING  has been replaced, rebuilt or reconditioned. I also have the registration paper sat at my desk just waiting a MOT cert.

in other new, I spent the day working on my other bus today :msn4:
