Been looking at power steering on the bus like the idea but don't like the look of the motor on steering column

Views please

Just wondering if it works at
Just low speeds to help manoeuvring or
Adjusts itself at higher speeds when driving
It could be a pain on the Motorway if it makes it wander more
I should think it's nice to have if it works ok
:)

look up lite steer on you tube

its very good but bloody expensive

I built my own, alot of work but it's great. Check out my cha thread he has info on there. I can't remember if I put photos on mine, it probably cost about 500£.
Litesteer works well but there is a big motor waiting to take your knees out if you crash.

I drove one with Litesteer last week it was lush!!!!!!
BUT that big horrible looking lump on the column is very ugly!!!

I was not really great a fan of power steering, but I since driven many vans that have had the Neil (lite steer) touch.
Want the kit on mine :| :|
He fits them to so many different classics cars.

But what this Space...

lite steer have plans ;)

To quote the lite steer website.....
Speed sensitivity is achieved by either using the original speed pulse from the speedo (if an electronic speedo is fitted) or by fitting a Transducer to the speedo cable, this can be fitted on the speedo head or within the length of the cable. This will generate a speed pulse and there is a choice of signals per revolution.

does it involve hiding that big motor on the steering column :D

It really depends how often and what you use your bus for as to if it is good value or expensive.
Neil fitted mine knowing that there was a shelf across the full width of the cab and he adjusted the placement of the 'big ugly bit' accordingly so I don't notice it as much.

If he has found a way of improving it then great, but even without that potential change it really is a terrific bit of kit and has transformed the way the bus drives and handles at low speeds

Yep speed sensitive, we are one of Lite Steers approved fitting centres and have to say the product is great and Neil & Gaby provide an excellent service. We've fitted the system to earlies, lates and modern danburys and it works really well, super light at low speed.

Prices are the same as listed on the Lite Steer Website so its £1080 +VAT fitted.
