Ok so I've just spent 10 -15 minutes trawling the for sale section to see whats currently available and am amazed by the poor adverts some people are using to try and sell buses that they want an awful lot of money for, long descriptions are fine but at least back it up with good quality images taken from all 4 sides and corners of the bus, images of the interior showing the cab area and of the rear interior and finally of the engine bay, is it really that hard?, links to photo sites are a complete turnoff and if you are asking serious money for your bus then surely put some effort into the advert to try and attract potential buyers.

Theres an awful lot of buses for sale at the moment so surely the more you do to make yours stand out the better, look at the buses that are selling and at the prices they are selling for, bay prices have not risen in the same way split ones have so remember your bus is only worth as much as someone else is prepared to pay for it, no matter how much money you have spent on it :roll: :)

Just an observation and obviously my personal view :)

It takes me an hour to upload a picture where I am and seeing as in working 14 plus hrs a day that ain't bad , or I could stay up all night and not put food in my kids mouths , but I get the point , if you don't know my bus the you wouldn't buy it anyway

The beer belly , your cacks , and the can ov Stella is a superb advertisement for your bus lol

Point taken and appreciated, i have never really sold a vehicle before so it is all new to me

Its not just the buses...

The clarity of the subject lines is often vague too. There will be loads of good stuff I miss out on coz the subject line does not spell out what is actually for sale.

Like Graham, just my opinion.

I've been thinking this for a while too, Graham, both vans and parts for sale.
Don't expect your reader to imagine what the stuff looks like.
There are rules to flogging stuff on this forum for a reason - it helps both the buyer and seller get what they want.

It's not just happening here. It's going on everywhere. 25K for a list of parts and a pic of the door step. :roll: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1684707" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Completely agree Graham. The only thing more infuriating is when an adverts starts with "I'm thinking of selling" or "just testing the water". Then there's those that advertise and then can't believe what they've done!

I Agree but I also think that it is in the sellers interest to advertise well so they are only doing themselves out of a sale.

That advert is class especially as they only joined the samba on the day they placed the advert, but it just typifies what I was flagging up. If you want to sell your bus regardless of the price you are asking put some effort in, this one posted over the weekend falls into the trap perfectly http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=61763" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
