Hi

In my bus I have an opening little window in the back on the side, the window behind the westy louvered window. It's rusted and knackered.

Can I just replace the window with a solid piece of glass or can I get a new opening window and frame?

Thanks,

J.

Are you talking about a 1/4 window? You can buy the entire window with frame but most I find are silly money. I'm currently restoring all mine due to rust and it's a nightmare.

There where a few people/businesses at Brighton Breeze selling second hand rear 1/4s in varying condition, I can't remember who though, maybe try FBI or Sussex Kampers.
I would keep it as an opening window if possible as its good ventilation for back seat passengers.

Yes thats the one. Although is it not more like a 1/6th :)

I've got the westy louvered windows on each side... Hence I thought about removing it but if there are some about I may look to source one to keep it sort of closer to stock.

Did away with my rear quarter light Replaced it with on piece of glass looks fine and more important no more leaks

Mine has a shed load of silicone round it as it leaks like a bitch..

I'm thinking of doing the single piece of glass thing but I'd rather have an opening one

I made a good one out of two, was easy enough to do, just need to grind off the rivet that holds the two sections together, then replaced the rusted section, painted it and reassembled, the hard bit was putting the rubber on the frame

I've done the same, mine were rotted, replacement ones are stupid money so have solid glass in there now...

Yep got rid of all the rear opening quarters as they leak like sieves, one piece of glass in both my rear side windows.

I kept our , I think I paid about £40 for a delux chrome window frame glass and rubber, fitted like a glove :D

For all those who have gone to a single piece of glass, what was the cost? And I know it can be DIY, but is it worth getting a pro in?
