ello chaps- how does my fuel sensor wire get into the fuel tank compartment? I can't see a hole anywhere...

Cheers

Simon

I'm going to blow your mind now...

TA DA!

Nothing, not a button on either side. We ended up drilling one (found a perfectly sized grommet) but curious, isn't it. I'd thought it was above the chassis rail too, but nope, nothing there.

There isn't a hole as such just a little kink in the tank cover plate.. at least it's sorted

Ohhhhhh.....

So at a guess- little notch in firewall for earlies, hole in lump for everything with a gearbox hanger. That's my thinking.

Well, ****. It's got a loom from a '75 anyway :)

That's what I have on my '71!

Basically the wire runs from the sender down to the bottom right of the firewall. the notch is at the point where it goes from horizontal to downward sloping.

The wire actually terminates about here in a shrouded [female?] spade terminal. Looks totally stock to me. Where the wire that connects to this runs, I don't know!

I have my engine out at the moment so if you're desperate for some pics drop me a PM and I'll snap one next time I'm down at the bus (Saturday, I hope).

Thanks for the offer bud- I kind of negated the issue in the end by drilling a hole and fitting a grommet as per late bays. Can't see it being a problem :)
