Anyone used this, seen it on anything, read anything about it, have feelings about it, etc?

Steering box went out in the dlx, so I got to shopping around. If you are going to go, go big, right?

I very much welcome your thoughts about troubles, worth it, not worth it, the company sucks, etc.

Hmmm an interesting one this.... if you doa quick search you'll find a previous discussion on it....

Personally I am of the mind that it is deffinately still in need of a couple of tweeks though it is suppossed to drive very well, it does sit low and forward in its current guise so not really one for lowered busses, sleeping policemen arent too forgiving....

that said if you see Red 9 design their wishbone rack comes supplied with a R&P all for 1500....

i think that its nice kit but both Creative and Red 9 but to me i dont really see the point in spending such a crazy amount of money on it when the end result is.....well much the same as a rebuilt/good steering box which costs about a 3rd of the price. Given the choice between these rack conversions and a rebuilt box i think i would get my steering box rebuilt and leave most of my £ in my bank!!

In my van i have made my own rack conversion using parts from a bedford rascal and a custom cast Idler. I cant take credit for the idea (see link below)....however its bloomin good. The casting cost £50, the rack cost £5 and then £20 for steel for bracketry and bolts etc. and £25 for a steel link bar to be machined. To me the point is i have upgraded my steering for £100...there is no slack and I have been able to add power steering to it also. However, you do have to be able to/know someone who can weld.

Link below is the original thread where it was fitted to a split (i have done this to my 70 bay) - there are also some other examples in the tech section of the same site.

Thanks for the input guys. I think you are right on both counts (not for lowered and a bit much) off to source a good new/rebuilt/used steering box.

Thanks!

I think its Woodslat on here that may be a good source hes your side of the water and I believe he sends a quantity this way......
