Rear Spare Wheel

Hi everyone. Wonder if someone can help me, I'm wondering if someone can let me know if the rear spare wheel well can accommodate a spare wheel cover? Sorry if it seems a bit of a dumb question, but at present I don't own a Bay, although would really really love one, but my best mate (an Early Bay member) is now on his second Bay and I'm looking for a wee present for him as he is doing something really special for me.

If someone can let me know it would be much appreciated. Sorry if this is in the wrong section too.

are you refering to the vinyl cover as seen on wheels carried on the front (maybe a bit tight) or a hard covering (half wheel) that fits over the wheel and is fitted to the base with QR fittings?

Yeah, sorry the vinyl cover like usually on the front of the van. I can vaguely remember his old one in the back of his old van but sure it just had a thin nylon cover like a rain coat material. It also sits in a recess as well doesn't it where you only see about half of the wheel?

yes mine can, i have a vinyl cover + the original felt protector and they fit fine.

Excellent, thanks for that Johnny. Can you see the full wheel or only part of it sitting in the back? Just what I have in mind has a design on it and don't really want it hidden in a well or recess.

Ahhh now that would be cool if I could get it in the correct colour, although because its half the size can't get the logo on it but would settle for it in the proper colour.

if you found the right upholsterer im sure they could put a logo on it, although not strictly allowed by VAG

Have to agree that is a very nice cover indeed, one of the nicest I've come across....

Big A....thats what you'l see of the cover and wheel combo when its stored anyway so the logo if fitted centrally would not be in full view.....
