hi guys. does anyone know how many inches a two spline lowering job drops the rear? reason for asking,my van has 2 inch lowered spring plates and want to come down more.if i have it dropped a spline, will that be lower than the equivalent two spline drop.dont want it to be lower than a two spline drop,as i dont want the problems this can give.cheers,steve.

ok you need to remember you have inner and outer splines if you rotate the inner one spline in either direction it will adjust by 8degs 10mins, if you move the outer in either direction this will change it 7degs 30mins so you could go

1. one outer spline anti clock = drop 7degs 30mins
2. one inner spline anti clock = larger drop of 8degs 10mins
3. two outer anti clock = 15 degs
4. two inner 16degs 20 mins
or any combination i.e.
5. one inner drop of 8-10 and one outer raise of 7-30 giving a drop of 40mins
if you know your trigonometry and swing arm length you can calculate the linear drop in inches...

My tintop bus is lowered 2 splines at the rear and runs on 195/65/15" wheels. It sits at 183cm high - just enough to slip under my up and over garage door!

if all those degrees and minutes confuse you basically...

one outer spline... mellow drop

two outer splines... slammed!

adjustable springplates and tyre size give you fine adjustment if required :)
