Need some help. I have tried to remove the dash, but the heater levers are preventing me from doing so. Are the heaters only secured with those plastic spring grommets that spread out when pushed through a hole? Has anyone recently removed these and can offer some hints/tips as to how someone with large long gangly fingers are meant to pop these grommets out without dislocating each of me fingers. I am now beginning to realise why I see some van/buses without the heater levers, they probably got cut out. But I don't want to do that, I want to keep shaving skin from me knuckles and see this through. Meanwhile I need to man-up - any advice will be greatly appreciated, that's on the heater levers.

I removed the radio to give better access then to remove the plastic things use a small socket and push this over the end as this then compresses the plug and allows it to push through.

I put it all back together and replaced the plastic things but am now wishing I hadn't reused them incase I ever need to twke the cover off again.

^^^^ what he said :) I used a 5 or 6mm socket to push the plastic tabs together ;)
