Hi all,

So, my 30 pict 2 carb is shot.
Apparently the bushings around the throttle linkage are gone and it's something that can't be fixed.

What's the best thing to replace it with.

Got a 1600 single port, and I could afford a twin set up (at a push) but wondering if it's worth it.
I'm not trying to tune for power, just want to get up and running reliably and if poss improve fuel economy a bit.

So, replace with stock carb copies, twins or what?

Up to you really, 36 dels are the twins I would choose for a 1600, but just read it's a single port so you can only go for (I think) 34ict's ? Or kadrons, , but if it's pushing it budget wise and you want a reliable no hassle job I'd stay stock and see Pete @ cogbox, I hear loads of good things about the reconditioned solexs he does

So, did as much research and advice getting as I could stand, and ended up getting a Webber 34ict twin set up from Dellorto. Getting it fitted in a week or so.

Once it's in I'm pretty sure it'll be like driving a different bus.

Cost without fitting £410 - ouch
Will add fitting cost to the thread later.

Wonder how long it'll be before I make the difference back in saved fuel?

Check the jets when you get them as they could be incorrect for your bus. There are loads of write-ups about which will tell you. If you have a non-vacuum advance distributer i.e the 009, it will introduce quite a flat spot at low revs, so it would be advisable to get it changed. It goes without saying - get them tuned by a specialist, it will make a massive difference. I just did and I am still grinning!
