Repro 400KG-Essen Spare Bracket

Its been a while since I have owned my Essen and have hunted down for OG spare bracket far and wide only to find it only twice and for a price which was too much for my meager wallet (last one I know went for a whooping $400 / £240 approx).

Thus decided to have a go on the reproduction. Have been playing around with the idea of a repro bracket at my workplace. It started slow as had to do a lot of digging of the correct size/metal etc. (Thanks to a German friend I got some correct ones in the end)

It then started from these:
Raw Lock Springs (before rounding and finishing and all)

The hinge is going to be a challenge because I didn't really like the one i found off the shelf and it would need to be machined and welded for a cleaner finish. I have been able to do a prototype it works all well with the spare, size wise etc. though it still needs to go on the trailer for final fitment test.

I personally liked the idea of having an Allen mounting bolt instead of Hex style bolt (to make it more secure / theft free) so have added the 10mm Allen bolt with correct thickness plain washers. 10mm Allen key had to be added for the obvious reason of going with the 10mm Allen bolt.

Let me know what do you guys think?

I think it shall not be more than £85-£90 delivered to any mainland UK location but will have to look into exact postage after weighing the full kit with packaging and all. cheers
