Has anyone fitted a Rock n Roll bed in a Dormobile? Mine is a 72 Bay and I'd like to keep the original cabinet furniture, however, I dont carry the spare wheel inside and I was thinking of improving the bed width if possible. Main questions I have for those who have done this (if any...) are -

Do you retain the under bed storage box or bring the mattress down to the engine deck level?

Do you use the original seat back and base?

Can you still store the table under the seat?

Do you retain the original seat box (where the rear heater vents come through)

Does it affect rear belts if installed?

Not sure its that easy to fit a r&r bed in a dormy due to the height of the cabinets - I think you would need to chop the cabinets along the side & remove the under bed storage in order to get a r&r bed to line up with the rear platform. Have a look at trikky2s gallery thread on here regarding adding a cushion over the coolbox & a piece over the spare wheel area to make it full width using the existing bed mechanism ;)

what most dormobile owbners do is make the rear shelf storage full width, and extend the rear foam.

then make a bit fo foam to fit over the cool box.

then either just lift the bed and don't shuffle it over or shuffle it over and put the new foam piece near the sliding door.

I took a look at Trikky2's gallery and that's clearly the answer! I should have worked it out for myself really...

Thanks for your help guys.
