Been out today and bought some more camping equipment for the van but no think that without a roof rack then either the wife or the daughter will have to get left at home  , unfrtunately i dont think this will happen so i need a roof rack, ideally a 3 bow (or larger) but where is the best place to get 1 from?
Any companies to avoid?
Also how much am i looking at?

volksworld if your going, loadsa traders to compare, i know JK and KK do them, and both will be there, plus show discounts

Not going to Volksworld, going to bus types but hoping to get an awning from there. Really need the roof rack before we go to bus types though!

well justkamper, karmann konnection, SSp off the top of my head

theres a guy on here that makes them too, cant remember his name tho

Yeah just found that £230 INCL VAT (£253 with P&P), not as bad as i thought, JustKampers sell 1 for £150 plus P&P which according to there checkout is £5 so.....

Might email them see if they can do me a special......
Was planning on going to Volksworld but work is getting in the way (again)

Really?
i know at least 5 of these racks locally and they are all still gorgeous, some are 5 years old, did you call Dave and let him know, i am sure he would want to if there is a problem with his product, i would choose one of his over a far eastern made one any day.

i went for the cheepest option(not out of choice)and bought a jk one,ive been very happy with it,i think the key is in the build ;) ive seen the same rack at shows looking like a piece of ****.all tho i have to say its garaged so cant say how long it would last if sat out it the british weather for a year or 2.a good rack for the money i recon but not the best available

Ive got a creative 2 bow one and have had it for 5+ years and still loojks as good as the day i bought it 8)

Yes really!

I emailed them after it had been on the van for about 2/3 days expressing my concern over the fact the colour drained out of the wood and it was rusting.

The reply i received from Mandy, said that she had spoken to dave and he said that it was contaminants from the polishing mop and to give it a little clean with some autosol and all would be well.

So this is what i did......but next time the rack got wet, back came the rust, bit more autosol, back came the rust, you get the idea.

I then emailed them again telling them what had happened and received no reply, so i waited a few weeks and then sent the same email, no reply again. Then i gave up. :(

Give em a call dood, im sure they will sort you out 8)

I had a lot of contact with them i the lead up to all this as i spent well over £1000 with them and then to have two emails ignored :( , mix that together with the all problems i had with my weedeater beam :( and the fact we had all the wedding stuff going on i never got round to it.

Just wish they told me there was a chance the colour would fall out the slats so quickly and i would of treated them before building the rack, it takes a while to build a 6 bow rack you know, it needed dismantling, wood treating and rebuilding after about Hmmmm... all of 2 weeks.

as you might of guessed all this left a nasty taste.
