I have very little spots of rust about the size of a penny, what is the best way of removing it and preventing anymore tin worm appearing?

I want to do these myself, so if anyone has a walk through talk through then i'd truly appreciate it.

Depends on where they're situated. On the upper body, then just sand down to the bare metal/rust and then use a wire wheel or cleaning disc to remove any rust. Then put some anti-rust primer (professional products rule) on top and maybe filler, -remember to sand & clean between any coat!- then another light coat of primer and paint. Then sand with very fine paper and polish.
Of it's near the wheel arches, prepare to do some welding.

sanding wont remove rust in pitted into the metal but the etch primer will stop it for a while, i would suggest a spot blaster to get deep down into the pitted metal and get the rust completely out and like nate says a good etch primer.
