i have a slight problem with my headlining in the van

the other weekend i had to stuff the van to the gills (or ceiling) with beanbags, and really REALLY push them in to fit

when i take them out i find that the headlining is now sagging at the back, which seems to mean that one of the headlining support bar thingies has popped loose

my question is, how can i pop it back in, without having to tear/remove the headling, as it's in pristine condition

i've never seen how the support bars fit, so i don't even have the slightest idea how to start

HELP please!

That's the profile of the roof...

the bow sits in as below I believe :)

It might be rather tricky sorting it though. Good luck. The bars should have little rubber feet on each end afaik.

heh!

it's times like these when you need someone with their van in bits

nice one dude - so it there nothing at the top (apex?) of the roof to attach to? they are just in spring in tension at the sides, pushing themselves against the ceiling?

As far as I'm aware, that's how it is... spring tension keeps them in place. However, I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on that!

There is nothing on the roof apex to clip them to... I don't think the bars themselves normally even touch the apex of the roof.

I could be wrong tho' ;)

I stripped the OG headliner from this roof and found nothing, anyway...

Best of luck ;)

P.S. my van ain't in bits now, that only used to be part of my van :)

You can get ends for the bows that stop them moving around in the groove, they can still move the as you have found out. Its lining out for that area im afraid as is a pig to fix without doing that.

What do they look like dude?

All mine have ever had are plastic bits on the end of the metal rods...

thats the buggers! nothing special they just stop the slding about of the bars (not that good tbh but better than bare metal)
