I need to give the rear of my bus a good clean and re-paint, and fancy sandblasting the loose rust off:

as it is pretty complicated under there is terms of using a wire brush.

Can you hire sandblasters for this, or will a sandblasting attachment and a bag of (the correct) sand be good enough on my smallish Aldi/Wolf compressor?

Blasting will deffo take the crap off but also expect a fair bit of thee metal to go also.

Check this out.

If using sand then you must wear a good mask. Silicosis can result if not. Not nice.

Also cover everything you don't want sand in with masking tape. It goes everywhere, and you will be pulling it out of orifices for days! And be prepared for some holes when done. Best way for quick rust removal, and is pretty thorough. Do not use on exterior panels as heat may cause warpage.

Good luck.

cheers guys. I thin I may have to just sand/wire brush for now, and do th ejob properly later. Mobile unit nearby is min charge of £350, but could do the whole van (he has done before) so may do that later, nearer re-spray time - for now I'll just stop it getting worse!
