Scat Shifter Help

Can some help me with a scat shifter, took the original one out and offered up the scat but the base plate is the wrong shape????

Looks to be the same shape as the scat i fitted! Don't really understand why it doesn't fit.
Can you enlighten us ianscooby?

Got it fitted today , I was expecting it to sit down like the original but fits around the top of the recess I hope this is right, have driven it and what a difference it makes
