sealing sun cracked paint

hi all
what would be the best way to seal sun cracked paint on the roof of a bus to prevent rusting,
havnt funds to do anything to expensive at mo just dont want any rust to spead as have hairline cracks in paint some with a small bit of rust and dont want to ruin the bus by not doing anything about it
