I'm planning to have 3 point inertia seat belts installed for the rear, but I'm undecided which position is best for comfort and safety.

When I spoke to the installers, they said the standard VW mounting position pictured below isn't comfortable for kids and he recommended taking it from the back instead. But that doesn't look right to me. Securon do an All Ages height adjuster, any opinions on this or the best position for the belt?

That is the correct place for the belt. Reinforced etc. What bit is not comfortable? Too high low etc? Westys have a adaptor that raises the belt height by a few inches that help when used on rock and roll beds

He reckoned that the standard position was too low so that would be a problem. The Westy bar I've seen fabricated on the late bay forum; is that needed for safety, or ease of use on the rock n roll bed? I'm reluctant to use something which is not 100% tested and safe.

i think it is to bring the pivot above the height of seat back.

Just fitted my seat belt in same place, got my child's car seat there. The belt is slightly lower than the seat back, but the retractable housing is angled round so the belt comes out at 2 o clock as if looking at a clock face

Did you consider the metal bracket option to raise the seatbelt? What seatbelt did you buy for this?

I never knew about it to tell the truth. I got my seatbelt from just kampers, it's a securon 3 point inertia, as I've got 3/4 bed I've got a lap seat belt aswell as could not fit another inertia as my Westy wardrobe is there
