Hi all after all your help I've got a pair of gaz coil overs but how do you set up the springs I understand the dial for stiffness but how much tension do you put on the spring my ride height is 14" without any shockers on but my new ones go up to 16" fully extended so if I wind them up to 16" will it raise the ride height up to 16" or will it settle down again if anybody could tell me how to do it please that would be brill thanks

There is a Gaz shock thread on here that I followed and set up much as it was docemented on there. I ended up with the coils at about 90mm then I got it so that the upper cup that retained the spring was just under tension so that it raised the van as little as possible but just enough to not loose the cup on full stretch. Roughly 90 cm from memory and about ten clicks + on the little clicky bit, that took me a fair while to work out how that worked as well

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,, To fettle further or not ???

As Ozzie said, you want the spring just held by the cup as a starting point as this is a minimum to pass a MOT. From there, just drive it and compress the springs to suit how stiff you want the ride / how close you want your wheels coming to the arches over bumps.

BINGO ozziedog.............the legend speaks my language. set up and on brill just sorting the clicky thing out, 10 is a bit to firm so i've knocked it back a bit what a difference it made on the handling and its lowered it by an inch aswell and it also passed the mot the next day with no adviseries. happy days

thanks to all for all your help cheers phil
