Had a mate look at my van today (he's a chippy, doing floor with me)

he locked my side door, but now the door is now jammed

won't open with the key or with the white internal switch.
Internal switch does move but won't unlock

Sound's like he didn't pull the handle up after shutting door, but locked it. And then shoved end of door to line it up.

Any suggestion's other than slap the basta.....

WD40 in the barrel.

Tried that and wiggling the door lock internally while someone tries the key....... getting no where

Taken the fridge unit out as well and can't see anything wrong in the lock area :?

May sound stupid but you are pushing the internal lever the right way, I'm sure it goes towards the front not the back as expected!!

(may be completely wrong of course)

Mine done this once before , had to go camping with the only acess through tailgate  could not get the bloody thing open then later was alking to Slammedkustom off here and he just walked up pulled handle and it opened , So i think these old Vws are just quirky :? :?

Couple of the lads from local club has set up a new VW centre so going down thursday

Can't imagine that it'll just pop open for them and ill look a right tit

Cheers

I have someting along the same lines, mine wont open unless i get a screw driver the back of the upper runner arm(?) to lever it outwards.
Is there a way of adjusting the door as at the moment it is really a problem but when i (eventually) get it on the road and sprayrd i dont want to ruin the paint work

Mine jammed half shut, then fell off :( i've had no sliding door for ages, and the lower sill thing (lower runner) is slightly damaged, so the baring wont stay in.. but thats all been put right

Have you tried taking the door panel off on the inside to see if the wire connecting the front mech to the rear has come adrift?

Phil

Glad you managed to get it sorted :D
