I was talking to a lad at work last night who used to have a beetle and he was telling me about this bugpack manifold he used to run a single DRLA carb. After doing some research (google - although other internet search engines are available :lol: )we managed to find a picture of the manifold he was talking about

I have been thinking about upgrading my Progresive to a single DRLA and after seeing this manifold i'm quiet taken with it.
Is anyone running a single DRLA on a type 1 engine, if so what manifold are you using? OR does anyone UK stores stock the bugpack range?

Eurocarb do a version: http://www.dellorto.co.uk/merchandise/products_details.asp?PartNo=EMPI5208&CategoryID=12&PartsectionID=47" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As much as i would love twins, unfortunately its a cost issue thats making me think about a large single carb.
I'm just looking at other options.

Of course, it's a false economy though. Stick with what you have and get saving... On the flip side, I guess if you run a single DRLA at least you're half way to getting a twin set up. 8)

If you do get one and then decide on twin carbs, give me a shout as I can use the manifold for a turbo motor! :D

This is the sort of thing i was thinking of doing

Although i'm struggling to find a single weber / dellorto carb as all companies sell them as parts of a twin set-up
