Sliding Door Locks

Hi,

Realised my sliding door lock dosent open or lock from the inside or the handle wont go up to close the sliding door without slamming which i didnt know you could do before i saw my mate close his door by pushing the handle up!

Does anyone fix these locks or know what could be wrong?

Are you pulling the handle to open from inside?

You should push towards the bulkhead to open and pull up to click the rear of the door in once it's slid shut.

Or am I just being patronising as you probably know this !!

it will open if you push away from you from inside but i think its got issues becasue it wont lock from the inside or unlock from the inside or close to by pulling up

probably just needs to be cleaned then relubed at the latch. might want to clean and lube the bottom of the door roller and clean out the track for it too. i was suprised at how easy it is to open and close after cleaning mine

have you tried adjusting the rods?

first though give it all a good clean as above then adjust the rods at the remote end
