please can someone help me, I have just fitted a camper shop vinyl roof kit but I'm having a real problem finishing putting the insert section of the inner roof seal. the seal is pushed together so tightly that i can't get the insert in. Can anyone give me any tips on tools technique i should use.

help please the good weather is here and want to get out and about.

i used son of a gun and sprayed liberally, you can get the window trim tool it really helped to open the centre of the rubber to slip in the insert piece in place.

its an upholstery spray for rubber and plastics, makes them nice and supple slippy and flexible.

halfway down.

It took me the best part of a day just to fit the insert. I used hellerman oil ( commonly used in the electronics world for putting on rubber sleeving) and the blunt end of a plastic baby spoon for opening up the seal, and then pushing hard to get the insert in.
