Its a very simple slip and magnetic clutch mechanism, is the odometer pretty accurate?

if so then the cable and gears are working fine and looks to be binding on the bearings....

does the needle twitch at all

yes the odometer seems to be accurate,the needle dont twitch... is this an easy fix :?:

easy enough to open it up and take a gander fella

it should be simple to diagnose from there

a VERY light oil on the bearing may well be all it takes...
