Just bought a new compressor for use as a general air line, for waxoyling, and perhaps a bit of spraying. I went in to the shop with a model in mind, but was persuaded to economise. I'm now wondering about the wisdom of this. I've ended up with a 1.5HP/2HP peak model, with a 24 litre tank, that is oil lubricated (I had intended to get an oil-free one).

Will I need some form of filter to allow me to spray with it?
Will it be man enough for the job?

I can take it back - it's still in the box :)

Thanks,
Nick

not sure on sizes but it is best to fit a water trap of some description. Oil free are obviously better as less chance of silicones

Whats the CFM - for decent spraying (paint that is), believe you are better off with greater than 8?

Probably find 1.5/2HP motor will just about do that, but will probably have to run it all the time as the 24 litre tank will still run out!
