Just attempted to remove my starter motor as it had jammed and no ammount of rocking the bus would get it dis-engaged. Unfortunately my wife has ECD on moving things round "in general", so I am unable to locate any of my manuals. I also got a little bit of "little knowledge is dangerous" sindrome, and went at it hammer and tongue, litterally.

So I am currently sat in the study with my now damaged starter motor, attempting to get one ordered via the web.

Can anyone tell me if the fixing points are correct. :?:
* There is 1 bolt on the lower side.
* There is what looks like a ground down bolt on the upper side (that just spins round).

If this is the right way that it shouls be connected, then how do I get it sorted before I fit the new starter. :x

Any pictures or pages from a mnual would be much appreciated... :D

Thats correct for the bolts mate ..

The top bolt has a flat side on the head that locks against the starter body .. this goes through the starter and the end appears in the engine bay behind the fan shroud .. thats where the nut goes ..

The bottom bolt is accessed from underneath ..

Im sure some one will post a pic to make it clearer ..

Starter motor is held with 2 bolts, the top one is the one that has flat sides and should have a D shaped head, see link below

Future tip, when you think you need the hammer out, stop, go in the house have a cup of tea and comeback out

Yeh, I think the hammer was a bit of overkill, just thought for what ever reason that the PO had ground the nut down.
