Hi Guys,

thinking of going down to the eurotunnel the night before so we can get an early crossing giving us a full day in france to head south. has anyone gone downt the night before and have you stayed anywhere in particular or slept "rough" right by the eurotunnel?

never done it before so advice welcome

We've stayed in the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone ... don't stay there!

Here's a blog post we wrote at the time: http://berylthebus.wordpress.com/2010/07/31/day-1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Myself and a few friends are heading off to Belgium later on this year and are staying over at the

Premier Inn @ Folkestone (Channel Tunnel)
Cherry Garden Lane
Folkestone
Kent
England
CT19 4AP

Right next door to the tunnel.
Supposed to be very nice and quite inexpensive

Last summer I just slept in the car. Was booked on the first ferry of the day and arrived around 11pm (bad time planning, eh!).

Didn't think it was worth paying for a room for half a dozen hours or so, so that was that!

Try the Premier Inn at Ashford North. Used it a few times and always got it for £35 by booking well in advance. All up to the usual standard and nice to have a shower in the morning before setting off :D
There are a few near by, Ashford North is the cheapest, probably due to being a few minutes drive from the motorway.
Still only a 15 minute drive to the Chunnel.
