bugger of a job
I had this problem i used a lorry ball joint splitter (hinge type)loads of welly on it went with a big bang.As for heat the only problem is it will distroy the seal but may be the only way

I used a hydraulic puller that I managed to borrow. Also went off like a gun
when it eventually gave way - nearly sh!t myself..

Try your local friendly garage or you may be able to hire one.

Cheers

James

Similar story here. After bending/distorting a few different puller types I squeezed in the heaviest duty bearing seperator I could.
It took a lot of force to get the bugger to shift - the difficulty was keeping everything square whilst winding on the load.
