So, as my steering had a bit too much fore/aft movement, I opted to fit a new steering column bush from Bluebird Customs.

However I couldn't find any details on t'internet about how it fits. So I spent last night messing about and with some trial and lots of error, fitted it and took pics along the way. I can post up the details later if there isn't already one available but my question is:

Do you need to remove the old steering column bearing before installing the new bush. It's item 10 or 36 on the image below?

I fitted my new bush on top of this and woke up this morning in a state of panic thinking it might need to come out. Anyone done this?

Thanks in advance

Cheers Sam.

Did you notice the spring (37) was compressed very tightly?? I assume it hasn't caused any problems at a later date??

No worries, I will be honest I didn't notice.
I haven't had any issues and have covered about 1000miles
