Another silly question from me I'm afraid.
The front wheels on my 1970 bay are toe'd in so much you can see it by eye.
The bus is almost mobile (ongoing project) and before taking it anywhere for MOT I need to sort the tracking, or I will wreck my tyres.
Now, my adjustable tie-rod is on the right-hand side, with the right-handed thread on the road-wheel end (it was replaced by the PO)
This is exactly what Bentley says.
However, Haynes says that the adjustable tie-rod should be on the left for RHD. It doesn't say which end should be the right- and left-handed threads, but I guess that the road-wheel side would be the left-handed thread so that rolling the tie bar top forwards increases toe-in, as you do on LHD buses.
So my question is: does is matter which side is the adjustable tie-rod and does it matter which ends are left- and right-hand threaded?
Thanks for reading!
