Got a 1600 tp in my bay, has a 009 dizzy, dual Weber 40IDF's and a quite pack exhaust. Has been running great ever since the engine was installed until 3 weeks ago when it got this flat spot. it idles and pulls away ok, but when you apply the throttle after changing gear in stumbles and hesitates really bad then picks up :? I've checked everything i can think it could be, does anyone have any idea's?

thanks in advance

Karl

I'd agree with that comment, I've had three Bays, all had 009's, all had pick-up problems at low revs. I even bought an IMDU with the first van, but only helped a bit. After reading various articles on the web about the 009 and how it doesn't suit stock, or close to stock, motors, last year I invested £100 of my wife's money ( ) in a standard vacuum dizzy, now runs a treat.
Can you borrow a standard dizzy off a mate to try?

I'm pretty convinced it's fuel issues tbh, the engine has been running this set-up since i fitted it in march last year and has run great until about 3 weeks :? I found an 050 dizzy in the shed and it was the same, I was under the impression that a vac advance dizzy won't connect with up Weber IDF's ? Hence why i brought the 009. forgive my ignorance

My car gets this everynow and again its normally the points gap. Once thats set its fine. Id have said its something to do with the 009. Im going vac advance on my 1776 build which will have a 110 or 100 cam. Ive had no problems with my 009 on my bug but a few of my mates have had nothing but trouble on buses.

The points would be worth double checking tbh. That would be my luck, something simple like that :? If that or the pumpchange don't work i'll just carry on sulking in doors
