Hope no one minds me posting this - a friend just put it on our caterham site, so I said I'd put it here (bit more relevant!) - apologies if in a round-about way it has already been posted....

"Don't really know if its going to be any use but hey, lets try. My friends pride and joy 'Molly' a VW camper van was stolen by some a***holes in Dulwich last night. Keep your eyes peeled for a light blue camper van with a white roof Reg DDX 292L."

Any further details would help as the colours likely to be changed

conversion?
pop top?
chassis no./m-plate?
mods performed, height, shifter, engine?
identifiable stickers?

Some more details:

Hi There,
I am the man with the stolen camper. Thanks for all upir support. I was too

emotional to start posting details on here yesterday but my mate has been a

real help. The van was stolen overnight on wednesday 15th-thursday 16th April

from outside my flat in honor oak park south london. Chassis

Number: 2332109891

Engine Number: AS 182193

Here are some pics.

I really hate the people who took her from me. I just had my first trip of the

year down to devon and it was awesome. A day later the van is stolen by some

scumbags who don’t want to work hard and save money to pay for a van as I did.

Anyway I would

appreciate it very much if you could keep your eyes peeled. I realise though

that this is probably a professional job and I am unlikely to see the van

again. Keep yours safe and sound.

Cheers

Steve

when i had my beetle i used to have the view that veedubbers respected each others cars and would never steal one.
but it seems that folk will stoop as low as to steal something someone has orked so hard to get.
in recent times bits (centre caps etc) have been nicked at water cooled shows and it appears now nothing is sacred i would be gutted if someone nicked my van and its not even finished yet  good look with someone turning up a leed

The night before yours was stolen my mates was nearly stolen 2 miles away from yours in Ladywell. Luckily his neighbour heard it being stolen at 3am and scared them off. The had got his lock off and were about to connect the wires.

surely this is no coincidence? sounds to me someone was after a bus couldnt get your mates, so moved on and found the one above, and managed to steal this one. imo your mate should contact the bizzies, inform them of his attempted theft and this bus thats been stolen close by, and see if they will dust his bus for prints, that could help getting this bus back.
