Hi,

After a bit of advice...struggling to seal the heat exchanger ends to new vintage speed exhaust.
Used the woven washers and clamp supplied. Used paste when assembled.

Was ok but now blowing after 2hr trip up north. Can see evidence on the bolts. Cleaned up a bit added some more paste and retightened...lasted another 1/2 hr.

Are these seals designed to be fitted dry or was I right to add some exhaust paste?

Have ordered a fresh set to have another go...

Any other tricks? Cant see how these clamps & woven washers work reliably as compression can't be uniform with the clamps supplied.

heres a good thread. http://www.forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=46172

you should be fitting them dry AFAIK at least i did and they are fine.
