It's Sunday night, kids are in bed, I work shifts so this is my saturday night beers and wines a flowing and I come across a car on eBay (exciting Saturday night, I know!). Wife sees it and through Pinot tinted eyes, loves it. I scan the description through Carling tinted goggles...previous restoration...used for 6 years and laid up since....can't be too bad I think...oh, 30 seconds left, go for it....she bids....we win...£385... BARGAIN....we move onto looking for a couple of wings and lots of shiny stuff....

Next morning a message....when are you collecting the car?....ah, forgot about that. Click onto it and read the description....restored 1996....used for 6 years...laid up in a FIELD since and never been covered...engine and brakes seized...what have we done...

Any way, we bid, we won so I collected it and now its ours - and it's at least 60% rust...punishment taken on the chin and a full body off restoration required...floorpans, heater channels and passenger door are shot.

There are some good points (not many though). It's a 1300cc twin port and it turns over. TAX Exempt and totally original. Here's the beauty...it's gonna be a long winter :?

My mate bought a tank!!!
Not a fish tank.
Not a septic tank.

An actual big army tank!! :? :shock: :shock:

Luckily he got out of it as the other bidder was distraught he didn't win it, so my pal told him he could have it instead! Phew!?,!!!! :lol:

I'm contemplating one RIGHT now ! Maybe its time to go to bed before I do something rash

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221282119334?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Bit concerned about the "no log book"...
