Hi,
Following my post about my generator warning light I followed Speedy Jim's advice on how to test a generator with a voltmeter and found that mine is not putting out anything.
On further investigation I found that the generator is a dead duck and have decided to change it for an Alternator.
Does anyone know the best place to get a good value alternator for a 1600 Bus (1972)?
Also can anyone point me in the direction of a decent guide to taking out the generator and replacing with an alternator?
I'm aware that I can obviously lose the regulator as I'm aiming to get an alternator with an internal one but I'm not sure if I'll need to remove the carb or not?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
Jonny
