Increases in tax for cars producing high levels of CO2.. do you think this tax will eventually catch us tax exempt car owners?

Tax, tax, tax thats all thats in the bloody news these days.. at least the fuel duty has been delayed, yet this booze tax is just silly!

i'm just glad my drinkin days are almost over. more to spend on the finer things in life. ( lived life to the full when i was single and down london) have the odd pint now and then i just get my kicks from my little boy, and life in general now.

god i sound old lol..

but with this bloody government it seems to be the best way..

the only way i think us classic car owners will get taxed is if they think it could be a vote winner, but to be honest there really is not enough of us to make much of a difference also we dont all drive them everyday, they have there minds on fake 4x4 drivers at the moment which is good :D

I think we are safe for a good few years yet :D

I agree, I think we're safe for a while yet - although our historic vehicles do polute more than modern cars!

At the end of the day it's about a mixture of raising revenue/vote winning - the next general election isn't too far away so expect some better news next time around...

;)

i always like to think that owning a classic car is a form of recycling. They have lasted for the past 40 odd years!
not sure you could say that about modern cars.

Plus some vw's are environmentally friendly - they try and return the oil back to the earth
