Cheers Roland. Saw your bus on the web when it was still in the states, and then finally got to see it at EBI last year after you bought it. Really nice bus and a great colour....

Living how the front bumper is picking up more patina as the pics go on! Awesome earlybay dude

Thanks! Velvet Green is gone now though, swapped it for a variant and just bought yesterday a nice Arizona yellow 68 deluxe...

That was probably from driving on the M25 following a gritter a few years ago!

Cheers Rich and Stu :)

Got a couple of sweet additions for the bus over the last few weeks. Hopefully will get chance to fit them before the Volksworld party at Brands Hatch....

Finally managed to make it to a few events recently.

On track at the Volksworld 25th Party at Brands Hatch....

As you can see, I have fitted some euro lenses to the bus, but didn't have time to re-fit the headlamp grilles.

Then went to Grill n Chill this weekend. Excellent show. just a shame about Sunday's weather...

Parked up with Analog, now with grilles fitted.

What a cool thread, it reminded me of Tom Jones on teh voice when he kept name dropping people as though it was nothing

Great story, great history, great pics, great bus (not in that order)

A real nice feel good thread, thanks :D

Thanks Nugsy :)

I've had some awesome experiences and been to loads of places and met loads of people which wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for this bus.

Ebay Saprky. Cost about £15 and was lucky to get some with the elastic and clips. Really good condition too :)

Saw you rolling into Grill and Chill on a very sunny Saturday, bus was looking cool.

Is the shine on your roof in the photo with barrett's bus a new coat of ankor wax or was it wet on Sunday?

Its wet Andrew unfortunately :)

Ankor wax only comes up satin anyway. I need to do the roof again to be honest......

Scored some nice little parts for the bus lately.

First up, I have finally found the 'Stop' light which I have been searching for! Its probably the best one I have ever seen too.

It has a proper glass lens, with the raised 'Stop' lettering. The bracket holding the lens in place is a nice detail too.

It looks like a 50's lamp. Nice manufacturers logo on the top too.

All the way for New York State is this cool VW pin badge..

Looking good Steve ;)

Imagine seeing that in your rear view mirror  awesome

Chris

Ps might have to fit mine now :msn4:

Cheers Chris :)

They are a pig to fit with standard length headlamp rim screws. I bought some longer ones from the local nut and bolt store and that made them a well easy fit. Longer screws means you can locate the screw in the hole before clipping it all together.
