Has anyone put one on their bus?

I like lights. I am pedantic about them.

I think third brake-lights in general are a good idea and I would like to put one on the bus when it's finished, but it would have to be done carefully so not to look 'wrong' on a classic vehicle..

Has anyone got a third brake light installed on their bus? If so, where did you put it and put up a picture :p

I havent got a 3rd Brake Light, but have bought a 'Please Pass' iluminated sign off ebay for my rear window.

One day all this will come together.......one day

If you like lights you could look for one of those 80's supplimentary brake light kits.two adjustable brake lamps on a bar that fit in the back window.two high level brake lights instead of one! I think the kit was produced by Hella.

or fit two foggies in the top corners of your rear window

just ideas :)

I have put a safety star in my rear window:

Nice. Only problem is I am planning to tint the rear window quite alot, so I don't think lights would shine through it that great - should have stated this in the original post

Do Safety Stars have a bulb in them then?

yeah they do, I think I'm correct in thinking they were initialy given out by insurance companies to safe drivers.

Jon, I like that, I have been looking at this latley, does it shine bright?

It is bright enough to be seen in daylight and great at night. I have fitted mine on the inside of the rear hatch as I wasn't sure how long the chrome would last with the British weather.

I think thats probably the best place for it, fitting it on the bumper would defete the object, I was thinking that the centre of the window would be beter, but I'm planning on fitting Jail bars, so that ruels that out.

I did see some LED strips on ebay, that are clear when not lit, but I think they would look a bit modern for the old girl.

Jon, I prommise I will be up in the week to get that hinge.

Awesome, great product. Cheers..

I might mount it on the gutter :? hmmhmMmmMm... Or would that look stupid?

Another option would be on the roof rack which may look cool...

My third eye is in the tailgate as well ,but I did`nt put it there...

It kinda makes people look... 8)

I've recently removed the peeling one from my rear bumper, as the answer is "not very long"!

Ive had a safty star for about 2 years now and no rust issues...............then again its still in the wrapper in the garage.

I wanted to mount it inside the rear hatch in the centre but the jail bars spoil the positioning and slightly left or right of centre dont quite look right. Might have to mock up something and do away with the centre mount for the bars. Im sure my star dosent work anyway, came with a duff bulb im sure. Thought wiring straight into the brake light would be ok. Will check before fitting. Note to self...........dont leave it another 2 years. (keeps things looking nice though  )
